Grandparent Preparation

Feel confident and peaceful stepping into grandparenthood

Moving into the role of grandparent is a big transition, watching your baby welcome their new baby is a big moment in your life as well as their’s. You know better than anyone that this transition is life changing, but how can you help best? You want to be supportive, but you don’t want to get in the way. New parenting recommendations and safety guidelines can feel overwhelming. Maybe your child or child-in-law has invited you to support them through labor and birth, and you’re honored but don’t know what to expect.

My grandparent preparation package includes:

• Two 90 minute preparation sessions to share your experiences, and answer any initial questions. We can talk through labor and birth, what to expect, and how to best support your child in the postpartum time. We can create a list of questions or clarifications you have for your child before the baby’s arrival.

• Resource recommendations- books, podcasts, websites, etc...

• Texting support during labor and birth, where I support you in being a support person. If you are with your child I can offer reassurance, suggestions, and a listening ear.

• One 90 minute postpartum follow-up meeting where you can debrief and process your experience and ask any further questions.

This is ideal for grandparents who are planning on being at the birth of their grandchild, and having a hands on role in the postpartum time.
